  
Ornithischia and Saurischia are the two orders of dinosaurs. The division is based on pelvic bone shape: saurischian dinosaurs had a pelvis resembling that of modern reptiles; the pelvis of an ornithischian dinosaur resembles that of modern birds. The famous carnivorous dinosaurs were from the saurischian order, as were the largest herbivorous dinosaurs.
